The 2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies made a series of changes to the boundaries of the 18 Northern Ireland parliamentary constituency areas. These were passed into law in 2023 and came into effect following the 2024 Westminster election. However, there is at present a disparity in Northern Ireland’s constituencies between Westminster and the Northern Ireland Assembly, as seats in the Assembly continue to reflect the boundaries previous to the Review. The May 2027 Northern Ireland Assembly elections will take place based on the updated constituencies.
